Who we are

Built around the person, not the rota.

NewStep Home Care Ltd is a home support and companionship service helping adults stay independent in their own homes and communities. We work with clients, families, discharge coordinators and social workers.

What makes us different is discipline about the small things: small teams, unhurried visits, plans written with the client, and honest communication when something changes. Support hours are reviewed as life changes, so help never becomes more intrusive than it needs to be.

NewStep provides non-regulated home support and companionship. We are not registered with the Care Quality Commission and we do not provide personal care, medication administration, nursing or clinical services. Where those are needed, they are provided by a regulated provider or health service, and our support sits alongside them.

Hospital to Home

Settling back in, steadily.

Coming home is where confidence is most easily lost. We provide the non-clinical practical support and company that make the first weeks manageable, alongside the health and care services already involved.

Hospital to Home support
  1. 01

    Enquiry

A family member, discharge coordinator, social worker or the client themselves contacts us. We respond the same working day where possible.

  2. 02

    Initial home visit

A support assessment at home: the routine, the household and the practical help that would make returning easier, alongside any services already involved.

  3. 03

    Agreed support plan

We confirm in writing what we will help with, the support hours, when we will visit and what it costs — and we are clear about anything outside our non-regulated remit.

  4. 04

    Settling home

We prepare the home, meet the client on arrival where arranged, and provide close practical support and company through the first days.

  5. 05

    Ongoing review

We review regularly and step support hours up or down as confidence and independence return.

Why NewStep

Quiet standards, applied consistently.

Independence first

We support what someone can still do for themselves and step in only where practical help genuinely makes the day easier.

Companionship that lasts

Small teams and consistent visits mean our assistants become familiar company, not a rotating list of names.

Clear about our scope

We are not registered with the Care Quality Commission and we say so plainly. We provide non-regulated home support and companionship, and nothing beyond it.

Safe recruitment

Every assistant is recruited through structured interview, identity and right-to-work checks, an enhanced DBS check and references before working unsupervised.

Trained and supported staff

A structured in-house induction covering safeguarding, confidentiality, lone working and home safety, followed by supervision and ongoing training.

Working alongside others

We coordinate comfortably with families, regulated providers, GPs and community teams so everyone knows who is doing what.

Safeguarding

Clear safeguarding policies, mandatory training and defined routes for raising and reporting concerns about an adult at risk.

Wellbeing and confidence

Visits are planned around routine, energy and what someone actually enjoys, because confidence at home is built rather than prescribed.

How support starts

From first call to first visit.

There is no obligation at any stage, and nothing begins until the support plan and the costs are agreed in writing.

  1. 01

    Talk to us

A short, no-obligation conversation about the situation, what would help and how quickly.

  2. 02

    Initial home visit

A support assessment at a convenient time, agreeing what would make the biggest difference with everyone involved.

  3. 03

    Your support plan

We agree a written plan, the visit schedule, the support hours and the costs before anything is confirmed.

  4. 04

    Support begins

We introduce your assistant, start visits and review early to make sure the arrangement is working.

Careers

Companionship work, done properly. Come and do it with us.

We look for people who are dependable, observant and genuinely interested in the person in front of them. Experience helps; character matters more. Full induction and ongoing training are provided.
