Companionship for People Living with Dementia
Patient, familiar company that follows established routines and honours identity.
Familiarity is everything. We keep the team small and consistent, arrive at the same times, and follow the routines that already work rather than imposing new ones.
Visits are built around life history, music, photographs, conversation, gentle activity and time outdoors — working with what someone can do rather than what they cannot.
This is non-clinical companionship, social engagement and practical support. It is not specialist or regulated dementia care: anything requiring a regulated provider or health professional stays with them, and we work comfortably alongside those services.

- Households already supported by a regulated provider or community team
What this does not include

- No administering or managing of medicines
- No nursing, clinical tasks, treatment or health monitoring
- No support that requires registration with the Care Quality Commission
Looking for support at home? Talk to NewStep.
We will listen first, then build an arrangement around the person — not the other way round.
