About NewStep
Support that keeps people at the centre of their own lives.
NewStep Home Care Ltd provides home support and companionship across Northamptonshire, Doncaster, Coventry and London. We exist to help adults stay independent and confident at home and in their community — with the right amount of support, and no more than that.
Our approach
Good home support is unglamorous and precise. It depends on arriving when you said you would, knowing the client's routine, noticing changes early, and being honest about what you did.
Every support arrangement begins with an initial home visit — a support assessment carried out in the client's own home, with the people who matter to them present if they wish. The resulting support plan sets out what help is needed, the support hours, and who will provide them.
We keep teams small. Continuity is not a marketing promise; it is how good support actually works, because a familiar assistant notices what an unfamiliar one cannot.

Standards and safeguarding
The standards behind the service.
Independence first
We support what someone can still do for themselves and step in only where practical help genuinely makes the day easier.
Companionship that lasts
Small teams and consistent visits mean our assistants become familiar company, not a rotating list of names.
Clear about our scope
We are not registered with the Care Quality Commission and we say so plainly. We provide non-regulated home support and companionship, and nothing beyond it.
Safe recruitment
Every assistant is recruited through structured interview, identity and right-to-work checks, an enhanced DBS check and references before working unsupervised.
Trained and supported staff
A structured in-house induction covering safeguarding, confidentiality, lone working and home safety, followed by supervision and ongoing training.
Working alongside others
We coordinate comfortably with families, regulated providers, GPs and community teams so everyone knows who is doing what.
Safeguarding
Clear safeguarding policies, mandatory training and defined routes for raising and reporting concerns about an adult at risk.
Wellbeing and confidence
Visits are planned around routine, energy and what someone actually enjoys, because confidence at home is built rather than prescribed.
Who we work with
- Clients arranging their own support
- Families arranging support for a relative
- Hospital discharge coordinators arranging practical help
- Social workers and care managers
- Regulated care providers whose clients also want companionship
- GPs and community teams who need a practical presence at home
Professionals can commission our support alongside the services they already provide. We are clear in writing about where our role begins and ends, and we communicate promptly with everyone involved.
NewStep provides non-regulated home support and companionship. We are not registered with the Care Quality Commission and we do not provide personal care, medication administration, nursing or clinical services. Where those are needed, they are provided by a regulated provider or health service, and our support sits alongside them.
Company registration details will be published here once confirmed by the business. NewStep makes no claim to accreditation, inspection outcomes or commissioning arrangements that have not been verified.
